How many injections do I need?
You will need three doses of the vaccine to ensure that you have the best protection against HPV. It is important to complete the course and have all three doses. Three vaccinations are offered over a six month period, the second will be given one month after your first injection, and the third is given six months after your second injection.
What if I miss my vaccination?
Missing an appointment doesn’t mean restarting the whole course, but it’s important to rearrange your vaccination for another time soon after the date of your missed one. We won’t be upset with you - we would be more upset if you didn’t re-arrange!
Can you remind me when my next HPV jab is due?
There is a free HPV text message reminder available simply text HPV and the date of your first injection (ddmmyy) to 64746. We will then send you a text message around the time when your second and third doses are due. So, if your first injection was on the 22 September 2009, text HPV 220909 to 64746. Make sure you enter a space between the letters and the numbers.
All messages you send and receive are completely free, and your number will be removed from the system as soon as the reminders have been sent. You can opt out of the service at any time by texting HPV STOP to 64746.
